A conversation between Petit Suisse and I went something like this
Me : Petit Suisse please explain to me why you think that is that you are a renowned and model student at school with decorum and examplary behaviour according to your teacher and yet you display such abominable conduct and disobedience at home ?
Petit Suisse : J'ose pas de dire
which translates to 'I don't dare say it'
Me : Please tell me so I can begin to understand the workings of this strange phenomenon
Petit Suisse : Mais je n'ose pas de dire
visibly he is not too keen on disclosing the real reason which got me a bit upset and worried but I kept my cool and insisted some more
Me : C'mon you can tell me anything. All I am trying to do is to get an insight so that I could change if need be.
Petit Suisse : Television
According to Petit Suisse the reason as to why he is a well behaving, obedient model student with decorum at school and a not so angelic rugrat at home is due to the fact that there is no television at school.
Amen to that... The television is evil !!!

Favourite pastime
Shrek's absolute favourite pastime is sleeping. He can sleep for hours on ends and if it was not for his obligations that he must fulfil such as work he would sleep for the majority of his days punctuated only by his more primal needs of eating, drinking and filling his tummy in general, emptying his bowels and 'otherly pleasures'.
Shrek's second pastime (tie with eating) and favourite bonding activity with the kids is vegetating in front of the television. If Shrek had his way and did not have to answer to my insistences that they need more than just 'entertainment' and lobotomy he would allow them to sit and be couch potatoes all day long.

Our beloved Sibir Silencieux
After about what seemed like an eternity and endless cycles of washing (in reality it was more like 20 or so machines) we seem to have come to the light at the end of the laundry washing tunnel.
Our machine deserves every accolades for having gotten through that ordeal.
Notre lave-linge est lessivé !!!

Mother
While my mum is becoming acquainted with the Interweb for the first time, her grandchildren are already light years ahead and I have to compete with them for the use of the computer during their waking hours.
They say necessity is the mother of invention or in my mum's case necessity creates a desire to exploit the web's wonderful and powerful tools like that of Skype/yahoo messenger and webcam facilities to keep in touch with her grandchildren who are 2 continents away.
I guess that technology is progressing at lightning fast pace and the older generations have a difficult time keeping up. Given the circumstances and necessity of keeping in touch with family who are separated by several oceans my mum has decided that it's time to try her hands at communicating via the miraculous Interweb. She still has a long way to go before she can navigate through simple menus and openly access whatever she needs on her own accord without a third party but still it's a huge step for her.
